For couples wanting to play it safe and protect their material and monetary possessions, a Chicago prenuptial agreement is something that you may want to look into. If anything were to happen later and you didn't have a lawyer or attorney present, the court could ultimately dismiss the entire contract.  If you have children involved then this could get really messy.  If the contract doesn't uphold then the it could ultimately affect child support.

It's important to go through the proper legal channels when contending over monetary and property issues. If you're going to take a step in that direction, take ten more and do it the right way. Be sure that you approach your significant other with consideration and an open mind. This a a tentative situation and their reaction could be detrimental. However, more and more couples are becoming acutely aware of the fact that only one out of three marriages survive in today's society, and they don't want to be on the wrong side of that statistic! If done in the right way, you could convince him or her that this is only a precautionary measure made with good intention, not just for yourself, but him or her as well.
